Great Players Aren’t Always Good People

You can never, ever confuse “great” with “good” in the  Wile World of Sports.  The Antonio Brown – NFL circus is ample proof, with the star receiver facing mounds of legal problems as a result of sexual assault allegations.

Brown is one of the great receivers in the new generation of football players after six standout seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers but he like several others in the macho sport has grown to believe that he is bigger than the game,

His bad act in the Steel City  led to a one way ticket to Oakland for aa pair of  draft picks but that landing was a rocky one, culminating with his release this month voiding his multi million dollar contract.  The New England Patriots came bto his rescue, giving football fans yet another reason to hate Bill Belichik’s bunch.

And now Brown is fighting the rape allegations by a former trainer, Brittany Taylor who Brown has degraded in his denials in social media platforms.    He’s the latest bad boy of the NFL, among hundreds who have gone before him.

Ironically, a league that was so hell bent to deny its players the right to take a knee in pre-game national anthems, is now potentially putting its fans in the predicament of taking a knee to protest the continued recruitment and employment of unsavory characters.
